4. Our top remote retreats

Aguas Arriba Lodge, Los Glaciares

Only accessible by boat, Aguas Arriba is the ultimate intimate lakeside retreat, with only a dozen guests present at a time. Trails wind their way from the door up into the surrounding mountains, where beech forests cloak the cliffs and hanging glaciers peek out between rocky summits.

Aguas Arriba is built entirely of wood with huge windows that let light pour into the interior. The outside deck perches right above the water, and sitting out there with a glass of wine, it's easy to believe have the lake all to yourself.
