Getting to Río Palena Lodge
Río Palena Lodge occupies an isolated location on the bank of the Palena River, in the Chilean Lake District.
From Santiago there are three ways to get there:
- Private flight from Santiago to Palena Airfield, which is just 20mins by car, or 10mins by helicopter, from the lodge.
- Commercial flight from Santiago to Puerto Montt, then a private flight to Palena Airfield and continue to the lodge as above.
- Commercial flight from Santiago to Puerto Montt and on to Chaitén. From there it's around three hours (130km/80 miles) by road to the lodge.
