How was your experience getting to and from Chile/Argentina?

Would have been super easy, except for Corona virus.

How did it feel to be one of the first travellers to visit Patagonia after the pandemic?

Was perfect timing for us. Hotels were relatively sparse, trails too. Felt a bit bad for the hotel & excursion owners, as they have been taking a bath.

Tell us about Tierra Patagonia

LOVE this hotel! Is Beautiful. The splendor and wildlife of nature is all around you. The hotel blends in perfectly. Nicholas (mgr) was a lovely man, always making sure we were well taken care of. The Guide Team was AWESOME! Juan, Jose, Zdenka, were perfect guides. Knowledgeable, easy going, careful. Hotel staff were all very friendly and always there anytime you needed.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

More beautiful than my words can convey. Towers are magnificent. Wildlife is abundant and diverse. It is a many faceted diamond.

Tell us about The Atacama

So strange and other worldly and beautiful. Vast, quiet, empty and full of life at the same tile. Parts look like the Moon, or Mars, or red rocks and rushing streams. So many stars at night! The Tierra Hotel Atacama is yet another stellar property to stay, anywhere in the world. Paula the manager took great care of us. Tomás planned great excursions for us. Oh, and the Hotel's Barbecue is something not to be missed!

Tell us about Chilean Lakes

The rain forest walk at Futangue was one of the best hikes I have ever had, even in the pouring rain. To go from one of the driest places on Earth (Atacama) to one of the wettest (Valdivian Rain forest) was incredible! So Lush, so many plants, bursting at the seams with life. The Futangue Hotel & Spa was one of the most comfortable hotels I've been at. Cristobal the manager is a perfect host. Andres, the Designer and Engineer of the property was full of so much information about geology, volcanos, energy generation, water management, hydro electrics. A genius man and we could have listened to him endlessly.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Book your own flights! They can change very rapidly!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Pack less stuff!

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

If there was a weekend person who could help arrange last minute changes due to covid.
