Mount Darwin
Located in the Chliean part of Tierra del Fuego, Mount Darwin forms part of the Cordillera of the Andes Mountain Range and is famous for being the highest peak in the region, towering in this wild and vast land at 2,488 metres (8,163 ft).
Mount Darwin was given its name by the captain of HMS Beagle, Robert FitzRoy in order to commemorate Darwin's 25th birthday on 12th February 1834. Mount Darwin is a challenging peak to climb and is best attempted well into Patagonian summer, from December to March.
