Mirador del Maestri

This famous viewpoint is located a short walk above Laguna Torre, which can be reached on a day-trek from the town of El Chalten. The viewpoint is named after Cesare Maestri, who claimed to be the first to climb Cerro Torre, although it is thought to be very unlikely that he actually did. As well as views of the dominating peak of Cerro Torre, with Torre Egger and Cerro Standhardt beside it, this viewpoint also gives you spectacular views of Glaciars Grande and Torre, originating high in the mountains and coming down to the laguna below.
