Dirt road mountain biking

Traffic-free dirt and gravel roads connect up various lakes and estancias across Torres del Paine, offering a relaxed way to enjoy the fabulous mountain views.

Mountain bike tours explore the eastern lakes of Laguna Azul and Cañadon Macho, all with the Paine Massif as your backdrop.

Longer rides over a number of days use e-bikes to give an extra boost when faced with unpredictable winds and steep ascents, cycling from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine, visiting Laguna Sofia and the Milodon cave en-route.

Single track mountain biking

Single track mountain biking While it’s not permitted to bike on the main trails of the W Trek, Torres del Paine has a network of old horse trails and walking paths that are open by mountain biking and will challenge the most experienced riders.

The most challenging and rewarding routes include biking into Paine Grande Refugio along the Las Carretas Trail, or crossing from Lago Nordenskjold to Rio Paine via a technical trail with roots and embedded rocks and a host of steep sweeping descents.

Routes can be tailored to every rider's abilities, and there are plenty of trails that can be enjoyed by less experienced riders.

More technical riders will find some challenging riding on the single track fire roads, and double tracks both in the park itself and further afield in the Sierra Baguales. Our local operators love to ride and are always finding new trails to explore.
