Operator's Itinerary
This itinerary is an example of how you could spend your time on this all-inclusive experience. Please see the full list of day-excursions on the excursions page.
Day 1: Arrive in Torres del Paine National Park; Hotel Las Torres
You'll be picked up from the airport, or your hotel, in Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas or El Calafate and transferred to Torres del Paine National Park.
If coming from Punta Arenas, you'll stop en route for a traditional lamb BBQ at Estancia Cerro Negro.
You'll then arrive at Hotel Las Torres where you'll be staying for the duration of your trip. Take some time to relax and familiarise yourself with the area and take a gentle stroll before enjoying a tasty meal at the restaurant.
You’ll meet with the in-house excursions team to confirm the outings you’ve chosen to take during your stay.
Meals: Dinner (also lunch if transferring from Punta Arenas during the morning)
Accommodation: Hotel Las Torres
Day 2 - Half-day Lake Nordenskjöld & Ascencio Valley horse ride; Hotel Las Torres
Today’s excursion will be on private trails and along the shores of Lake Nordenskjöld, with expert baqueanos helping you learn how to ride.
You’ll have Mt Almirante Nieto and its hanging glacier on the skyline as we stop at various viewpoints and cross pristine rivers and dense forests. You’ll venture into the Asencio Valley and cross the Asencio River, where the forest and the pampas transition into one another.
After returning to your hotel in the early afternoon, you will have the rest of the day free to relax, wander around the property and take in the stunning surroundings. Or perhaps opt for an extra activity if you wish.
Dinner is served at the bar, or in the hotel’s restaurant.
Length of ride: 3 hours, 8km/5 miles
Difficulty: Low/excellent challenge for beginners
Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Hotel Las Torres
Day 3 - Full-day Paine by vehicle and Lake Grey boat trip; Hotel Las Torres
Starting early after breakfast, today’s vehicle-based excursion will show you the highlights of Torres del Paine, with the option of taking short hikes at one or two of the impressive viewpoints in the national park.
You’ll drive westwards with your guide a small group of fellow travellers, crossing the national park and witnessing the stark contrast in geography and vegetation as you edge closer to the Andes mountain range. The views will be stunning if the inclement Patagonian weather allows.
Around midday you’ll take to the small Lake Grey expedition boat for three hours as you sail towards the face of the Grey Glacier with the magnificent backdrop of the Paine massif to one side and the vast Southern Patagonian ice field and Andes mountains to the other.
Once you are very close to the face of the glacier, your guide will share some whisky, with millennial ice in your glass.
You'll return the same way and once more take in some stunning afternoon views of possibly the most beautiful mountains in the world.
Note: The boat trip is an optional add-on to today’s excursion and needs to be booked and paid for in advance.
Difficulty: Low. Small group outing of up to 20 other guests, with more on the boat.
Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Hotel Las Torres
Day 4 - Half-day Patagon hike; Hotel Las Torres
Travelling by vehicle for about 30mins, you’ll be dropped at the trailhead near Lake Sarmiento where you'll join your guide and a small group of hikers to enjoy the Fauna Trail heading towards the Paine Massif.
This undulating trail, of about 7km/4 miles, offers a great opportunity to take in Paine’s immense panoramic views, the wondering guanaco camelids that roam these windswept plains, and some authentic cave paintings from the region's native inhabitants - the Tehuelche people.
Pausing for your guide to explain the natural, human and geological history of Southern Patagonia, today's hike is an enjoyable way to experience one of the area’s most dynamic, and accessible hiking trails.
After about three hours on foot, you’ll end at the park entrance before taking your vehicle 10mins back to the hotel where you’ll have lunch.
The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the surrounding areas of the hotel. Perhaps you’ll visit the organic garden or stroll the self-guided Conservation Trail. Some guests may prefer a massage in the hotel’s spa (not included) which can be booked via the front desk.
Length of hike: 3 hours, 7km/4 miles
Difficulty: Low. Small group outing of up to eight other guests.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
