Los Glaciares National Park has a wide variety of accommodation to choose from. Hotels and glamping sites in El Chaltén allow you to walk straight out onto a hiking trail, while El Calafate places you close to Perito Moreno glacier. There are luxury lodges for exclusive tranquillity, or you can get truly remote in an estancia deep in the Patagonian wilderness.
El Chaltén’s hotels are unbeatable for placing you in the heart of the action when it comes to experiencing the mountains Los Glaciares up close.
Watched over by the FitzRoy Massif, wherever you stay here offers the opportunity to get quickly out and on to the hiking trails. There is a great choice of accommodation on offer, from simple hotels and hosterías (bed and breakfasts) to upmarket spa hotels and glamping.
Outside El Chaltén, you can also find luxury lodges and estancias set deep in the wilderness to widen your choice even further.
El Calafate is the main gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, with both the region’s main airport and Perito Moreno glacier on its doorstep, and as such has no shortage of accommodation options for visitors.
Hotel choices range from family-run boutique hotels and friendly B&Bs, to four star hotels with a touch of the ski lodge. Some of the best choices are set along the shores of Lago Argentina, allowing you to enjoy tremendous lakeside views backed by distant mountains.
Just outside El Calafate, you can also find luxury lodges and estancias that place you in the heart of some of the wildest landscapes that Los Glaciares has to offer.
There is no need to compromise when it comes to high end accommodation in Los Glaciares. The region offers some of our favourite luxury lodges in Patagonia where the level of service is only matched by the grandeur of the surroundings.
Luxury in Los Glaciares comes in many forms. You might want to hide away in a romantic lakeside log cabin, curled up in front of a log fire sipping wine while gazing out to a nearby glacier. Or it might mean evenings of gourmet food followed by days on hiking trails that lead from your front door, with some of the best guides in the business.
Estancias offer a truly unique way to experience Los Glaciares. These historic restored or working ranches are located deep in the Patagonia wilderness, making them the perfect escape from the rush of modern life.
Staying at an estancia offers the chance to connect with the true culture of the Patagonian frontier, where the gaucho spirit is still a living, breathing thing. Explore on foot or horseback through landscapes where the pampa, mountains and sky seem to stretch on forever, then return to the comforts of the ranch.
Estancia styles range from authentic farmstays to the luxurious, but it’s the estancia’s epic settings that make a stay one of most iconic experiences you can have in Los Glaciares.
