Overall, how was your trip?
The trip was great. The Stella Australis was wonderful as was the crew, above and beyod expectations. The Glaciers were amazing. The scenery was breath taking and memorizing. Should be on everyone's "bucket list". Eco Camp in Torres del Paine - AMAZING!!!! The views were out of this world. The wildlife that we did get to see, beautiful!!!! The accomodations were as expected and were fit for a trip like this. Everyone that worked to put this trip together for us did a great job and exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much. A trip of a life time that will forever be remembered.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
It was great!
Would you visit again?
Yes
How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop did a great job getting the trip that we wanted and an itinerary that would work for us in the time frame that we had to work with. Every one was very nice and helpful.
How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?
9 out of 10
How was your experience in Santiago and the surrounding area?
Great city, lots to see. Valparaiso was wonderful too, great way to bring in the New Year!!!!
How was your experience in Buenos Aires?
Huge city, wish that we got to see more of it - but time did not allow. Did our own little city tour with the boutique hotel that Swoop reserved for us. A great little place to stay.
How was your experience in El Calafate and El Chalten?
AMAZING!!!!! The glaciers, the boat ride... everything was amazing, and the crew was absolutely fantastic!!!!! To the end of the world wouldn't have seen or done it with out all of them. Walking on the glaciers, to seeing them up close and personal from their fronts and evening hearing the cracking and seeing the faces fall off... can not even explain it.... just a great time!
How was your Patagonian cruise?
The Cruise as previously stated amazing... they were great!!!! THe zodiacs were so much fun and they had it down to a science to get us all off on and on land in a relatively timely manner. Food was great, service was above all else. Everything was great.
How was your experience in Torres del Paine?
Eco Camp was great!!!!!! Torres del Paine, amazing..... Hikes and excursions... only wish that we had more time. Unfortunately, 2 days is not enough time but the excursions that we were able to do in those two days gave us the chance to see the majority of the park... no Puma's :( but it was a great adventure!!!!!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Pack for layers like they say too, some times you will be peeling the layers off, and be ready for hikes, not just hiking shoes, but physically be ready. Drink lots of water, keep yourself hydrated. I don't think hiking poles were much needed but to help people with balancing issues, for sure take some. Know your limits, some fast pace treks are not for everyone. but they have activities for all ages and physical conditions so do not go because you think they can not accommodate you. They can figure anything out for you, just be practical. It is definitely worth the long flights to get there, I promise... the views that you will see will take your breath away!!!!
