Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

We got lucky with the weather - between 30-50 degrees everyday, no rain and very little wind, but being prepared for all the elements is important. Don't need to carry a lot of water as the streams are drinkable from and so filling up your water bottle every few hours is fine which means you can carry a liter or s of water and then fill up when needed. Ear lugs absolutely necessary in the night as you will be sleeping in rooms with potentially noisy roommates. Eyeshades were not that necessary as the Refugio's cut off power at a designated time forcing people to go to sleep and not party and the power didn't come back on till 6amish. Carrying some motrin, tiger balm was good on the days were the legs, shoulders and back were sore after long hikes or elevation gains. Finally, while food was sufficient, carrying some energy gels as well as protein bars was useful for that snack urger or between meals

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

In many ways - the act of putting yourself out there with the elements without phone connectivity makes you spiritual even if you are not religious. You her your body, you are in touch with your soul and you are in touch with some force that has made all of these things come together - so it has its own meditative aspects. This was my first trip to South America and I am more interested in the history of the countries than I was before

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
