What was your most memorable moment?
Watching King Penguins was nothing like seeing them in a zoo. In the wild they were so animated! Their mannerisms, feeding behavior, and vocalizations were not only fascinating but also very charming. Since leaving the park we have watched the videos we took over and over and they make us laugh each time. It has been fun to share the videos and what we learned with friends and family.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Because getting to Patagonia from the US usually requires multiple connections and airlines, the probability of delayed luggage is increased. I was so glad we had essential toiletries, one change of clothes, a warm jacket, and rain gear in a small carry on, so we were able to still enjoy our time until the bags eventually caught up with us. Only change a small amount into local currency (~ $100 USD). We mostly used credit cards.
Tell us about the Wildlife
In addition to the King penguins, we saw guanacos, flamingos, upland geese, and other birds (can’t remember them all).
Something Else?
The Yegua Loca hotel was great! Comfortable, with a good breakfast and beautiful views of the Strait of Magellan. We went in early April and had fantastic weather- sunny, no wind or rain. It was amazing.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
We have to take care of Planet Earth. It’s the only home we have!

Thanks for everything. The contact and reminders to check the trip planner before traveling, the support during the trip, the lodging, the guide, the pickup driver at the airport- all of it was wonderful.
