Doug Williams' Trip Date:
21st Feb - 26th Feb 2025
What was your most memorable moment?
Seeing the remarkable landscapes with a small team far from the crowds. Our guide quickly developed a fantastic plan in a relatively short period of time because our initial trek was impossible because of the weather.
On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?
9 out of 10
Which of the following best describes your adventure?
Great holiday
On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rate your trip: The Huemul Circuit?
9 out of 10
Tell us about Los Glaciares
Staggering beauty with far lighter crowds than portions of the O or W routes at Torres del Paine National Park. The Tyrolean crossing we did on a river was fun.
Tell us about the Trekking
The trails were in good shape and grades were more than manageable. Our refugio stops were well spaced and the facilities were good.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Bring your best raingear; it can double as windstopping gear, too. And don’t overpack when it comes to first layers; I didn’t wear several of the shirts that I had packed. Layering is always the key, but multiple pairs of different layers seems unnecessary.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
It only affirms my previous beliefs that Patagonia is a wonderful place to visit and merits continued preservation.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I was prepared.
