What was your most memorable moment?
It's hard to pick just one but I really enjoyed the challenge of the Base of the Towers hike in the snow. It was a beautiful hike and I loved walking through the valley, the the forest, and then the step climb to the lake. Our guide Martin was great - we learned a lot about Patagonia but with a good balance of quiet time to be present and enjoy our surroundings as well. The towers were covered when we got there, but it was a good reminder that it's about the journey :).

Tell us about Explora
Explora was excellent. The guides and the hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. We had Claudia for several of our excursions and she was so kind and helpful, and a great teacher. We really learned a lot from her. She took excellent pictures during my horse riding activity as well which I really appreciated. She knew I was nervous and stayed right with me to make sure I felt safe. We also really enjoyed Martin who took us to the base of the Towers, and my boyfriend went with Junior one day and said he was excellent as well. Really great guides! The staff was so friendly as well- special shout out to Lidia who was our server for dinner a few nights and who worked with front desk and helped us with an issue with has with our rooms (way too hot). She learned what we liked and even brought me a special side of potatoes one night when she realized how much I loved them. So thoughtful. Really great staff all around! They let us check out late so we could shower after our last morning hike since the hotel was very busy which we greatly appreciated.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
It was incredible! What an amazing place with so much to see and take in. I couldn't get enough of the view of the mountains and really enjoyed all of the different terrains we hiked in during our stay.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Don't be afraid to travel during the winter season - it's beautiful, less expensive, and you feel like you have the place to yourself!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I typically travel in the shoulder season, but I feel like this trip was more off season and I may start traveling that way more often. I don't mind the colder weather and it was so nice to be out in nature without crowds.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Swoop was great - we really appreciated the video calls early on to get us excited and prepared.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
We felt very prepared for the trip with all of the information we were sent. We had everything we needed for out hiking excursions!
