What was your most memorable moment?
There wasn’t a single memorable moment, rather the combined hikes, comradeship with fellow travellers and guides combined to make the trek memorable.

Tell us about EcoCamp
The ecocamp experience was better than expected. We loved the room and the community rooms. Our guides, Fio and Tamara were very knowledgeable, especially Fio. We also appreciated the guide Chris who was with another group from EcoCamp.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
The hikes in the park were exceptional. We experienced pretty much all aspects of weather, from the wind and rain to the beautiful windless 55 degree days. All of the views of the Horns, the Paine Grande and the Towers are amazing. The towers was perhaps the most incredible as we had a perfect day with sun and no wind. I would also give accolades to the guides for altering the trip so that because of some bad weather, we took a half day hike after a short van ride to the Los Cuernos area instead of the long hike to the Towers. I realize the hikes are dictated by the weather, but if possible a short respite hike before the Towers is very much needed. I’m honestly not sure I could have made the Towers hike if we had not had that recuperation day.
Tell us about the Trekking
As mentioned above, a recuperating day was very helpful between the two days of supported camping and then the Towers hike. We appreciated the knowledge of the guides, especially the geology.
Tell us about Los Glaciares
The hikes are incredible and the glaciers just have to be seen in person, as was the case in Chile, to be fully appreciated. The guides in Argentina were excellent as well. Probably better in English, but that wasn’t an issue in Chile. Really loved the town of El Chalten. That place is very special and I will likely return there.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
As Swoop says, be prepared for all types of weather. I was, and was glad that I had all the various clothing I brought as I used it all.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I probably wasn’t as prepared as I should have been, but nonetheless I was able to hike at a regular pace, but slower than some of the other younger hikers. I was very excited for Patagonia and it lived up to my expectations and beyond.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Perhaps one recommendation, or suggestion for something to look into. We had 9 persons in our group in Chile and two guides. While one of the guides was in the lead and one always kept an eye on the hiker/s at the back, you might consider placing the guide at the final spot. Generally, those in the back are slower and having more difficulties and the encouragement of the guide can come in handy. As well, just to ensure no one gets off the trail, but I don’t see how that could have happened.
