Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Get in shape before the Torres del Paine leg. Sleep in the tents instead of the Refugio’s. Try not to be picky about food choices. Be careful and be considerate of others. When hiking down hill, yield to those hiking uphill. Layers worked perfectly for me across a very wide range of conditions. Learn some Spanish
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, I have great respect for the Chileans and consider myself an ambassador for the people and land.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Nico and Danni did great by us. Danni taught me so much! I even took copious notes and sketches in my journal.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
The zoom meeting should be mandatory. It and the Swoop website prepared me perfectly. I was excited and even a little anxious especially being 64 years old. We also appreciated the refund when our party grew from 2 to 6 people. We were lucky to be with great great people.
