What was your most memorable moment?
I absolutely loved my stay at the Explora at the Patagonia National Park!! This was my first time at their hotel and it was perfect! The accommodation and hotel grounds were amazing. All the personnel and guides were wonderful. And the food was fantastic- I have never eaten so well- and as a foodie, I felt I was in heaven😁. The excursions were very well organized and beautiful. This lovely park is much less traveled than other Patagonia destinations and I enjoyed the solitude on the trails. My most memorable moment was when I spotted a puma from a hot tub! The puma was lying in the grass waiting to get darker so it could go feast on the guanaco that it killed a couple of days ago nearby. What an amazing trip!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I recommend planning the trip to Patagonia well in advance, if possible, to have more time for planning and reserving the accommodations, especially if wanting to visit more traveled places like Torres del Paine. I explored Aysen on this trip, which is much less traveled and very lovely. I highly recommend it!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
This was my second trip to Patagonia and my first solo trip. I loved it! It made me feel confident I could travel by myself. I have really enjoyed learning more about the creation of the National Parks of Chile and, especially, about the conservation efforts by Kristine and Douglas Tompkins. Very inspiring!
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Well prepared as it was my second trip to Patagonia. And very excited!
