Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Stay at the Rio Serrano. Make sure when you hike and it gets windy-- you wear something to make sure sunglasses do not fall off! also-- we only had a quick bite, did some shopping and picked up a rental car in Porto Natales- and it seems very run down, alot of homeless people and stray dogs. people said migrants are coming from Santiago and they are poor and have no work. I think trying to commute from PN to the park- do not do it. Also- Ushuia seems amazing- I wished we could have stayed longer- and let folks know-everything and I mean everything is closed on Sunday in Ushuia.. so the time between cruise end and airplane takeoff for Buneos Aries--- be prepared.. still was amazing to walk around the city!
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
One thing I would say is the area is remote but has the comforts of civilization like the hotel. I am concerned as it seems like there is going to be more development and I really hope the area will keep its charm.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
150% totally excited and the land portion with Rio Serrano and the Park amazing- would come again. The Cruise portion--- I would not do that again
