What was your most memorable moment?

There were so many memorable moments! I'd say the most memorable was getting to the top of Garner Pass and looking down on Grey Glacier. So windy! Sun was out! Glacier was glowing! Jose was excited for us!

Which of the following best describes your adventure?

Tell us about Torres del Paine

Exceeded my expectations! Every point on the path brought new and beautiful views! Wonderful sunsets and sunrises!

Tell us about the Trekking

Jose was the best! Truly the best! He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and was so energetic and positive. He clearly loves his work. I told him early during the trek that I was interested in birds. From that point on, he was continuously on the lookout for birds and would pull out his field guide when he and/or I observed a bird I had yet to see. Jose also helped apply first aid for our blisters on a daily basis. I learned a lot about treking from Jose - blister care, proper layering, proper footwork in difficult treking conditions. Just a joy to be around!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

The gear guide was very useful. Along with a packing towel, consider a light packing washcloth for the showers. Don't overpack clothes (Jose recommended just a single baselayer and a single extra shirt for evenings. Don't skimp on quality of gear (boots, headlamps). Bring lots of dry bags for compartmentalizing your gear in your backpack and don't bother with pack rain covers per your websites helpful suggestion. A light sleeping bag liner with my 3-season (20F) bag was helpful.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I wouldn't say it necessarily changed my perspective. I love the outdoors and backpacking in general but I would say it made me appreciate the point of longer periods outdoors (this was my first 7-day trek in the mountains).

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Not really. Very organized group and helpful customer service. Keep it up!

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

I felt very prepared and was very excited (although a bit nervous) for the trip. As I mentioned above, the trip exceeded my expectations (my ability to keep up with the trek, the guides and porters, the beauty of the area, the vegetarian meals).
