What was your most memorable moment?

There were so many, that it's hard to pinpoint just one moment! But if I had to pick one, we went on an excursion with Patagonia Camp to hike Miradores. Winds were topping at an estimated 120km. The winds were so bad that we couldn't make it through a particular pass halfway through our hike that we had to turn around. At one point our guide flew back over 10 meters behind everyone, and we all were sitting trying not to get blown away. It was quite the adventure, and speaking with others on the hike, our regret was that we didn't power through. This just means that we'll have to return to complete the hike!

Tell us about Patagonia Camp

Patagonia Camp lived up to all our expectations and then some! I am SO glad we opted for this accommodation and for springing for our suite double-yurt (with hot tub). Winds at Patagonia were pretty intense, and the staff did warn us that you would be able to hear this at night, which we did. This wasn't a downside, as I felt that we were somewhat one with nature. It was quite the experience. We loved how varied the excursions were, and how they lended itself to degrees of difficulty. On our first day, we went on the 14-mile base towers hike (this seemed to be the best day to do it). The next two days were spent on easier hikes to give our legs a bit of a break. The only downside was that because we were towards the end of the season, some of the trails were starting to close, but that's at no fault to the camp. We also loved our guides. Having a guide lead you through trails and talk about Patagonia was a wonderful experience. They were really knowledgeable and led you through challenging part of trails. All we had to do was follow the leader -- it was great! The only downside to Patagonia Camp was that it was a bit of a drive to and from the National Park. You would spend at least 1.5 hours in the car each way to get to and from the park. For example, we left to hike the base towers at 7am, hiked 14 miles, and was back at the camp at 9pm. It made for a really grueling day.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

Torres del Paine was incredible. This was the highlight of the trip for us. The topography was so different in every part of the park. You could see lenga forrests, plains where we saw many wildlife, and experiencing "Patagonia Flat" on more than one occasion. The highlight for us was hiking the base towers, which was arduous, but seeing the lake at the top made for a wonderful experience. For other travelers, I would recommend spending at least three full days to see what this park has to offer.

Tell us about Los Glaciares

Los Glaciares was also wonderful. The highlight for us was the hike near Lago de Desierto. We started our hike in the rain, but as we kept climbing, it then immediately switched to snow, where we could see a glacier in the background. There were a couple of downsides. One, it rained quite a bit on the first day and a half that we were there, which is the nature of Patagonia.
