Tell us about Torres del Paine
It's an amazing place. The Cuernos hike definitely stands out, although the boat ride to the Grey Glacier was wonderful. I would describe Torres del Paine as a once-in-a-lifetime place to visit.

Excellent, knowledgeable guides. Enjoyed it very much. Would strongly recommend to others.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Be prepared for any kind of weather any time of year. Layers, layers, layers. We were lucky not to need our wet gear on our hikes because of unusually warm weather, but the day we left was the only very cold and wet, so we just got lucky. Make sure you have very good waterproof boots that you have broken in with several long hikes before going to Patagonia.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I am Chilean, and my wife from the US had been to Torres del Paine, but I had not. It took her insistence for me to go, since we have a wonderful house on Lago Villarrica. I expected it to be amazing and it was. I'm very happy to have finally gone to the park.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
The new yurt-like tents were excellent. My only complaint was the low frequency noise from the generator. The generator is either too close or not properly insulated.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
We were almost all experienced hikers, so we were well prepared. We had one young woman in our group who had never hiked before. When she completed her first hike of 16km, she was so proud. The guide was very encouraging so that helped a lot. Thank you!
