Tell us about EcoCamp
Eco camp is a wow! Luxurious and 5 star meals. I stayed in a standard dome which was comfortable and had great views of the Torres. Ian and Fabian were excellent guides. Went to evening yoga classes and had a massage!
Tell us about Torres del Paine
Reaching the top of the Torres! Even though it was cloudy and cold the scenery is breathtaking. It’s a rigorous hike and I wish we had stayed at the camp part way up to the Torres. Too many people in the trail.
Tell us about Los Glaciares
Seeing Mt Fitzroy and surrounding peaks and glacial lakes. Glorious.
Tell us about the Trekking
Rafa was an exceptional guide in Los Glaciares. The private camps were such a treat in the wilderness. Walking on glaciers and zip lining over raging rivers was exciting.
Something Else?
Cascata and Serac did an excellent job making these two weeks go smoothly and well. One minor glitch is when Rafa arrived at Toro Lake campground the porter had only delivered 1 tent (we needed 2) and no sleeping bags or pads. Rafa was able to use his GPS to text Serac and they had someone hike in arriving 8:30 pm to deliver these. Glad the guide had GPS communications.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, I was fit and had trained for this trip but the 2 back to back weeks of strenuous and difficult hiking was a bigger challenge than just was aware. I did it and proud I did and loved the exoerience and people but my knees ache at age 73.
