Something Else?

I'd say the biggest knock of the trip besides the ill people on a cruise spreading their illness was the amount of time spent on a bus for the Perito Moreno excursion. In all, I'd say it was somewhere close to 5 hours spent on a charter bus picking folks up, waiting, & transferring. This took what I interpreted to be about a 6-hour time with time to explore El Calafate into an almost 10-hour day. I think this could have been better communicated.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Significantly. This was my first international trip since a college Spring Break. I am so glad I had Swoop's assistance with pulling things together. As our trip progressed, I felt more & more comfortable with my ability to navigate language barriers, exchange currency, & enjoying local culture / cuisine.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

There were a lot of moving parts as we explored 6 areas (i.e., Buenos Aires, El Calafate, El Chalten, Ushuaia, Chilean Fjord, and Torres del Paine) over the course of 3 weeks. This included 3 domestic flights, a cruise, and numerous vehicle transfers. Swoop handled all of the logistics associated with the travel without a single issue. The elimination of all hassle & stress that could have occurred allowed us to really enjoy each moment & every day. My recommendation...identify what it is you want to do & recruit the help to assemble the pieces into a completed puzzle.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Just to better communicate (1) expectations for bus travel on the Perito Moreno excursion & (2) how excursions at EcoCamp work. I was kind of surprised by there being just 3 activity options each day & that they repeat after 3 or 4 days. Before getting there, I thought there was ~15 excursions we could choose from to fill the days were there.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

Over prepared & crazy excited! We WAY overpacked, but that is simply on account to the blessedly wonderful weather we experienced during our travels. If we were leaving tomorrow, there are a few things I wouldn't bring, but my suitcase would be 99% similar to what we brought.
