What was your most memorable moment?
My first glimpse of Lago General Carrera surrounded by the Andes mountains. The sunrise over the lake in Purto Varas. Our view of the light hitting Cuernos del Paine from our yurt outside Torres del Paine National Park.

Please correct my surname ASAP. I am Kaminsky. My wife, Maureen, is O'Driscoll. We do not share a last name and this is important since our travel documents will not reflect the same last name. Thank you.

Something Else?
Mallin Colorado was such a magical place. We loved the property, the staff, and the food. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Every meal was tailored to my dietary restrictions, and they were so fresh and delicious. The room in the lodge was perfect and the view was astounding. The onsite trails were so beautiful and the beach was amazing and unexpected. We had excellent access to so many points of interest. It was really a perfect stay. Puerto Varas was delightful. We had an incredible dinner (thanks to your city guide's restaurant recommendation) at Casa Valdes. The sunrise over the lake was breathtaking.
Tell us about Patagonia Camp
The yurt, staff, food, and amenities were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The meals were among the very best we've had when traveling. The property is so beautiful. We absolutely loved the yurt and soaking in the hot tub looking out over the lake with the peaks in the background was unbelievable. The guides were fantastic: so knowledgeable and kind! My one bit of feedback (which I also sent to the camp) is this: A better assessment of hiker abilities and grouping hikers according to preferences would be awesome. Perhaps posting available hikes for the next day to select from or posting hikes other groups were interested in would help people pair interests and abilities. We were discouraged from doing some of the hikes we were interested in and quite capable of doing. (We know safety is paramount, but we are experienced hikers and younger than the camp's chief demographic >60 years). The camp's exclusive hike to Paine Massif is incredible. We absolutely loved it and definitely would have liked to have spent another day actually hiking vs. riding in the van and walking single file on a trail. Their Miradores excursion, for example, is a beautiful walk but was frustrating for hikers.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
If your top goal is to hike Torres del Paine, book one of Swoop's recommendations closer to or in the park.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
No. But not because anything was lacking. The trip reinforced my love for the outdoors and the next protect our environment!
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I was perfectly prepared for the weather. Your packing guide was just what I needed. In addition to the excursion guide for Patagonia Camp, I wish I read more about the trails and looked at the National Park's own maps. The excursion guide for Patagonia Camp is appropriate for older or less fit individuals but was not accurate for people who hike (i.e., moderate was actually easy, difficult was moderate).
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Update the information needed about cash for the ferry. If you're staying at a camp where the excurious is included, they cover the cost and you can charge at the end. Your team is incredible. Again, Danny was really great and Carys was amazing -- she exceeded all of our expectations!
