What was your most memorable moment?
There are multiple moments! This was the adventure of a life-time. Words can’t begin to describe just how incredible our 5 day trek in El Chalten was with the Serac team. Kayaking on the La Leorna river was also so much fun and a way to see Patagonia like no other! That was most epic trip ever!!!

Tell us about the Trekking
The trekking in El Chalten was the most epic trip I have ever taken. For the last 15 years I had always wanted to travel to Patagonia, and this exceeded expectations in every way. The Serac team was fantastic, and our guide Rafa was beyond awesome. He guided us safely through some of the most difficult hiking I have ever done, including zip-lines. This trek is not for everyone - it’s physically very challenging in the tough Patagonian weather, but you will be a better hiker and person when you finish. It was a total alpine trekking immersion experience and the best outdoor education of my life.

Kayaking on the La Leorna River was SO great and a fantastic way to see more of the Patagonian landscape. I highly recommend this - the guides were fun, super knowledgeable, and very keen on our safety the entire time. One of the other main highlights of the trip!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Swoop is a great group to start the voyage and help plan a very personalized trip. Make sure when traveling to Patagonia to carry both USD and plenty of Argentinian Pesos because you will need it for taxis and tips.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
This trip made me truly adore Patagonia. I have learned so much about how to travel in tough and unpredictable weather, and how to do it well. It was a skill I didn’t have before and now I feel so much more prepared for all kinds of travel.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Very good team, and really appreciated the ease of loading everything in the adventure planner and being able to read the information before we went.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I felt VERY excited and as prepared as one could be for most of our trip thanks to the information that Swoop provided. Our trip would not have gone that smoothly without Swoop getting us prepared first!
