Tell us about Explora
Overall a very good stay. Only complaint is that they gave me a room that had no privacy at all (we had to keep curtains closed) because the room faces the carpark & the start of the walkway to view the fall. They should not have such a room.
Something Else?
2 things that we would like to highlight. a) the excursion to view the stars in Atacama was cancelled due to weather and we were told that the other nights were unavailable. So we tried booking with other providers and managed to secure places. We would like to get a refund for this excursion. b) From Explora to El Chaltan transfer, we went from Explora to El Calafata and changed car to drive to El Chaltan. The driver (Explora) told us that he could have sent us direct from Explora to El Chaltan, thus reducing our travel time by 2 hours !!! Also the driver to take us from El Calafata to El Chaltan went "missing" and caused a bit of a panic. It was lucky that the local tour agency was very responsive and managed to help us find the driver (20 minutes later).
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Well prepared and very excited as it was a "once in a lifetime" trip.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Maybe slightly more responsive in reply to simple queries (e.g. change of flight time aligned with local excursion?). For example, sometimes I have to wait for 2-3 days for a response. I do understand that this is due to the need to wait for the local travel agency's response. What I prefer is a "short acknowledgement" of receipt of the query (email) and the answer(s) can be at a later date (2-3 days).
