PLEASE emphasize to future travelers in Chile how important the PDI form that you get from customs is and that you need to keep it with you. My friend left it in her bag in Puerto Natales and she had troubles with check-in at every Refugio. None of us had any idea what that form was for but fortunately the rest of us had kept them in our passports.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Keep the PDI form in your passport! Bring sandals for the showers. Bring a small packable bag for the out and back hikes so you can drop your large bag.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, it’s shown me how little I need to live on and how far I can trek. How there’s so much in this world I have yet to discover and it’s all magnificent

Very prepared and very excited. It was stress-free.
