What was your most memorable moment?

The trip was unbelievable! No matter where you were, everywhere around you was breathtaking. Being on the water during the cruise was the most memorable portion. There were never ending waterfalls, the more you looked the more you saw! Each day we had at least one rainbow. We got to see the penguins, albatross, humpback whales, sea lions, and dolphins! The vegetation on all of the islands, areas and on Cape Horn was a huge surprise. The guides were so informative and reinforced each of the teachings over the course of the trip to make sure all of the guests learned as much as possible, and all of our questions were answered. Not only were we educated on the history but also present time varying from animals, flora, natives, and explorers. Absolutely loved the trip!

Something Else?

THANK YOU!!!! (I apologize it took a little time for me to complete my review). The trip was wonderful and Swoop really made it worry free. I appreciate everyone being available to set up virtual meetings as needed and responding so quickly to my questions/emails. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Looking forward to coming back someday :) One last thing- thank you for the last minute accommodation of booking someone to pick me up at the airport.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

1. When booking flights, make sure there is adequate time in between for transfers (my first flights didn't allow enough time, luckily we caught it on time). 2. Be ready to eat because the food is fantastic. 3. Bring a couple types of good rain gear because if one gets too wet you don't want to be in a jam. 4. Do NOT miss the excursion cruise. It is so much worth it!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Yes, it makes me more grateful for the world around us. Just seeing all of the beauty is still unreal. Learning about the sacrifices that went into discovering the area is eye opening, but even more then that kind-of was the reminder of natives getting everything taken away from them. I've never seen the amounts of rain and the constant windy conditions as down there, so that has also shifted my view on things back home. One other thing is how good the meat was there, well maybe all of the food but especially the steaks!!!

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The online portal was neat and helpful, but sometimes I felt like double-checking and confused as to if I completed everything needed/missed deadlines etc. The frequency of reminder emails was good and it was nice to get those and be kept in the loop. The virtual call was nice as well to make sure I was all set! Thank you!

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

I felt very excited and pretty well prepared. I felt prepared because Sarah and Jason had been and were going again, so they gave me tips. Also I used some of the videos etc. on the Swoop site, and read some books on Patagonia to get prepared.
