Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Sure. I am an older solo traveler. I am in my 70s and found I was able to do the trekking along most of the routes that Swoop had planned. Age should not necessarily be a deterrent.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I was incredibly impressed by how well Argentina has wrapped its mind around eco travel and tourism. They are a wonderful model for what we should be doing here in the U.S.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I thought you were all very organized, very receptive. One thing could help. When I arrived in El Chalten on the bus from El Calafate at around 9:30 at night,the hosteria where I was staying was not, in fact, around the corner from the bus station. I was loaded down with stuff. A nice young woman from a cafe finally gave me a ride to the hosteria. Maybe in the future arrange for rides unless the place where folks are staying really is just around the corner.
