What was your most memorable moment?
Our guides Nico and Gero made the Fitzroy hikes an amazing experience. The weather didn’t cooperate so we spent a lot of time with them at the campsite. Hiking on the glacier was also incredible.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Know that Chaltén/the glaciers can be very wet and cold and bring plenty of layers that dry quickly and insulate. Weather in the mountains can be volatile and we didn’t know until we were already in Argentina that our hiking/camping days would be so rainy/snowy.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
We wish we had been able to hike a lot more and see more, but it wasn’t in anyone’s control. That was definitely a disappointment overall, but we’re glad we got out there and saw some cool things overall.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Communication clarity - due to the time of year of our trip, the originally planned kayaking wasn’t possible. In an email thread, a couple of different options were thrown around by Swoop teammembers, but the scheduled excursion was not clarified until our time in Patagonia had already begun. Then there was confusion with the local Walk Patagonia office about a “navigation”, by which the local team meant a boat ride but that was not what we understood. Due to that and further language confusion, we missed the boat ride altogether.
