What was your most memorable moment?
Completing the O circuit with my wife at ages 68 and 67 and still being ready to travel on to the Fitzroy range for another 5 days of hiking.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
While the trekking descriptions were largely accurate, I think it would be useful to really stress the need for solid fitness, and avoidance if one has any knee concerns. The descent from Gardner pass in the rain and mud has substantially more injury risk than is suggested. Also, very clear if one did have a moderately serious injury the consequences are way more concerning than the false confidence evac insurance would address in a timely way a medium to serious injury.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
We have told our children they need to do this!! And NOT WAIT. The landscape and environment are changing. We did the W 20 years ago —and while we are happy many many people now get to enjoy these environments given infrastructure development —tourism is having a negative impact.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I think you need to provide more guidance on general fitness needed for the O…. We did just fine but are serious runners and hikers.. the O is not for the casual hiker particularly if the weather is heavily rainy.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
Excited—— absolutely. Preprared— gear Yes! Expectations - reasonably accurate although per prior comment if you’re 60+ there should be some additional info on challenges and physical prep.
