Something Else?
My only small constructive criticism would be related to the hotel in El Chalten, Senderos. While the staff was very nice and the rooms were clean, the wooden beams and size of the room made it incredibly hard for me (6 ft 3) to move around. I bumped my head and cut it once, and it wasn’t very comfortable to try to get dressed for trekking or return to after. The restaurant was also closed, but I understand that was likely due to the pandemic. I would recommend another hotel for other tall travelers, or maybe one closer to the center.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Go to El Chalten!! It was totally worth the extra leg of travel. Don’t be intimidated by the hike lengths. You find that extra gear when surrounded by the scenery.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Only that we want to return.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
No, Swoop did a great job (as did Walk Patagonia) throughout.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
Maybe a slightly more personalized packing list.
