Tell us about Peuma Hue Estancia

It, definitely, met our expectation and more. So very peaceful and beautiful. We loved our room. It was a Yurt. Nice to having lodging among the trees and away from the office, lodge and dining area. Lodging in our own personal yurt made us walk the grounds and along the beach to enjoy the layout of the estancia. We hiked on our own, with no guide, and loved it. The owner went over the trail with us, verbally, so that we could get an idea of what we would encounter. I did one kayak trip across the lake, and the guides were so much fun. The lake is beautiful, and the water blue and clear. Stopped on a beach to enjoy a hot drink and an Argentinian dessert.

Tell us about the Argentinian Lakes

Spectacular. A photographers dream. Even better to get near them to walk the shore, and to kayak. Beautiful clear water. We kayaked on the lake. Bird life is amazing, and so were the hot skillet empanadas!

Tell us about Tierra del Fuego

I always wanted to go to Tierra del Fuego, and I, finally, got to go. Did a walk with a guide, and some birds and horses. Did this upon arrival into Ushuaia and it was a perfect afternoon with a beautiful walk among a thick forest. Explored more of it during our stay. Gorgeous.

Tell us about Peninsula Valdes

Loved the dry land, and the wildlife. Being among the penguins and sea lions was awesome. I would return.

Tell us about Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has so much to offer. I love it, for a city. It's fun to walk and walk and walk and just explore. Fantastic restaurants. Very nice people. Fun young crowds. Wonderful parks. People love their city and get out, and it's fun to get into the Argentinian time frames of life. Tea/ late afternoon snack about 5, then dinner at 9 or 10pm. Embrace it. There is so much to see. We never felt in danger nor threatened, but we were aware of our surroundings, and what we carried with us. It's the same for any city in the world. There are all forms of transportation, even the subway. We took a ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento for 2 nights.

Tell us about the trekking

We did day hikes in Ushuaia and in Bariloche, Nahuel Huapi, with a guide. We hiked on our own at Peume Hue. Definitely recommend getting out to hike. There are all kinds of hikes or walks for every level of experience, and the guide will accommodate what works best for you. You decide, not the guide, but they will work with you. Don't miss it. The views are awesome.

Tell us about the kayaking

Our guide was so much fun, and so experienced. Loved being on the water, the preparation he provided, and the lunch too. It was windy, so our guide took us along the cliffs where it was calm. It was beautiful, and so were the birds. We were suited up and well-equipped for kayaking for the day. Everything was provided.

Tell us about the biking

Wonderful mountain biking, but we mostly did gravel roads, wooden bridges, and some roads to get to and from our starting points. Loved the Swiss village we road through, and the history about that area. So quiet, and not difficult. Different options available, so check with you guide as to how much you can do. They will also ask about your height, so they can fit you with the right size bicycle. They will adjust the seat height.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

It pays to plan in advance, as there are so many options. I am sure trips can be put together much quicker, based on your needs. You need that time to communicate back and forth with SWOOP, as you will find you will ask questions and make changes. And, helps with payment installments. For us, we traveled for almost a month, and wanted to travel to several different areas in Argentina. We had been before, to other areas, also using SWOOP. Each trip requires a lot of travel, if you do that. Argentina is a big country. It takes time to get places. We rented a car at the airport in Trelew to use at Peninsula Valdez, and were glad we did. Fun and easy to drive around. We were thankful for the other destinations that we had a driver pick us up to get us to hotels, or used a taxi, and had guides. It made the trip more enjoyable to be free of a car.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Yes, it makes me want to return a third time!

Do you have any recommendations or feedback for the Swoop team?

Keep up the good work!
