What was your most memorable moment?
There were many memorable moments but probably the most memorable was the first day's hike to Laguna de los Tres - just geeting there gave us a great sense of accomplishment, the views were marvelous, and our guide was excellent.
Which of the following best describes your adventure?
Great holiday
On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?
10 out of 10
Tell us about Patagonia Camp
The service was excellent but we did not enjoy the yurts. It was extremely windy while we were there and most people couldn't sleep at noise because of the noise due to the yurts flapping.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
We loved the base Torres hike. At first we were disappointed by the hour long van ride but the views were spectacular so we really enjoyed the ride.
Tell us about El Calafate & El Chalten
El Chalten felt like the wild west to us with all of the young hikers, bars, hostels, etc. We ate twice at the restaurant that was next to Walk Patagonia and loved it. We greatly enjoyed the guide from walk Patagonia but the lunches they provided us with were the worst food we had on the trip. Chopped up hard boiled eggs and tomatoes on soggy bread is not enough to sustain you on a 8-10 hour hike. We also enjoyed the hotel in El Calafate and walking around there.
Tell us about Buenos Aires
We really enjoyed our time in Buenos Aires but were ready to leave after 3 days.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I would strongly encourage people to train for the hikes. Our group ranged from 61-70 in age and were very glad we trained before the trip. Bring lots of layers and hiking poles.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
I would ask walk Patagonia to change their food provider - the lunches just weren't very good at all.
