Overall, how was your trip?
The highlight of my trip was seeing the wildlife up close and personal. My EcoCamp dome was nestled in the bushes where the chincols (rufuos-collared sparrows) sang for my arrival. Guanacos were not sparse and I felt I got the full experience being able to see them anytime we traveled on the road. In addition, the iconic rock formations were stunning and a real privilege to see in person. I enjoyed the experience at EcoCamp. The structure of eating with your group tour for breakfast and dinner was an absolute bonding experience with people from all over the world. The most exciting moment for me was seeing the young pumas napping while the guanacos walked by to taunt them. I came for the hiking experience as well and the hikes were challenging but not intimidating. My guides were exceptional at knowing about the park, motivating me through my treks, and making me feel comfortable back at EcoCamp.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
Patagonia was exactly what I needed to get reconnected with the outdoors. You are surrounded by unique beauty everywhere you look and it's vastness reminds you how big this world is.
Would you visit again?
Yes
How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop Patagonia was great at helping me choose the right trip. They convinced me to stay an extra day in Patagonia which I'm glad they did, otherwise I would have had too short of an experience since travel days really are only for traveling great distances. They also helped me plan for my stop in Santiago and the Lake District and I absolutely adored the boutique hotels they recommended. The only thing I would have preferred is if they sent their short guide to Chile out to me sooner because there were some pieces of knowledge in there that would have been helpful to know farther in advance (it was sent to me a few weeks before my departure date and I had planned this trip a year in advance). Other than that, I really have no complaints. I loved the advice they gave me and was 100% happy with my trip plans.
How did you feel about booking directly with our partner(s)?

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Brush up on Spanish if you plan to travel to places outside of the guided tours as most Chileans do not speak English. Prepare for wind and hiking on rocks. Spend one day in Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas if you can. EcoCamp is a great place for solo travelers because meals are arranged for you to dine with your tour group for the day. No anxiety about who you will eat with because the tables are already assigned! Also, no wifi for three days was the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
