Overall, how was your trip?
Awasi in Torres del Paine was the highlight. Staff were outstanding and service impeccable. Our guide, Catalina was one of the best we have experienced anywhere. Seeing 5 pumas in one morning was an absolute highlight as was the walk through Frenchman's valley. Loved all the hiking, every walk we dud was fantastic.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
We loved Patagonia - the landscapes are stunning, the people friendly and the food was outstanding. Definitely lived up to our expectations.
Would you visit again?
Maybe
How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop were fantastic, extremely helpful - even with making bookings too late for the Christmas period. Great communication and very helpful in managing disruptions to the agenda due to weather (helicopter flights). Thanks to Chloe and the team for all your help and guidance.
How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?
10 out of 10
How was your experience in the Lake District?
A beautiful area and Barraco Lodge is a unique place. I am not sure it lives up to its advertising but the team are friendly and welcoming. The bullock cart ride up the hill has to be experienced to be understood. As mentioned in my previous email to Chloe a few thoughts: Highlights: Walk to Quecha Lagoon was outstanding, fantastic scenery and helicopter ride back was great. Boar hunting trip - Roger loved it! The jetboat trip up the river was okay but stopping to spend time with some of the locals was outstanding. Opportunities: When Roger went boar hunting I ended up sitting around the lodge all day. The girls in the kitchen made a sort of offer to do something the night before but generally were busy all day and nothing happened. The same thing happened the next day and I almost felt like they were a bit put out that we were there most of the day (we were leading that evening) even though that was originally booked. Although laundry is advertised in the brochure as included I had to ask and then felt a bit like I was putting people out. The clothes that were laundered needed to be washed again at home. Minor issue given we are out in the middle of nowhere but then should be advertised differently.
How was your experience in Santiago and the surrounding area?
We were only in Santiago for one night. Accommodation at Luciano K was okay - nothing to get excited about but comfortable. Location is good. Transfers to and from the airport were efficient and comfortable.
How was your experience in Torres del Paine?
Already provided some key thoughts to Chloe and access to our blog for full details. Cannot speak highly enough of the Awasi team. Absolutely fantastic.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I recommend Swoop. Book early so you can get into where you want. Be prepared to walk... it is great fun especially if you are fit. Relax and enjoy.

We have already visited Antarctica and the Arctic. One day will go back to Antarctica (and also South Georgia Island) but not right now. Thanks again for all your help.
