On my Swoop trip through Southern Patagonia that started in Buenos Aires and which has taken me to Chalten and Calafate, I’ve covered large distances to get from place to place and this combined with pretty strict bus timetables during low season, has meant i’ve had to stay in several interesting hotels, hosterias and cabanas along the way (‘poor little you’ I hear you saying).
Well, at the moment i’m pretty excited because over the next week, as I make my way from Chalten (the youngest town in Argentina as it was created in 1985) to Torres del Paine, I’m going to be staying in 7 different hotels, a new one each night. The great thing about this is that i’m staying in some very varied places as you’ll see below, at different price brackets and with different levels of sophistication, which means that we will be able to recommend the right hotel for the right client.
1st night (Sat, 1st Oct) – Hotel Kapenke, El Calafate
2nd night (Sun, 2nd Oct) – Hotel Indigo, Puerto Natales
3rd night (Mon, 3rd Oct) – Eco Camp, Torres del Paine
4th night (Tue, 4th Oct) – Explora Patagonia, Torres del Paine
5th night (Wed, 5th Oct) – Hostal Amerindia, Puerto Natales
6th night (Thur, 6th Oct) – Kau Lodge, Puerto Natales
7th night (Fri, 7th Oct) – Hotel Don Felipe, Punta Arenas
So, on my arrival into Calafate I’ll check in at Hotel Kapenke and let you know what it’s like. Watch this space!
