Lucy went kayaking with her two friends, Sophie and Laura, and their guide was German from Tuturavesia.
‘Overall we had a brilliant time- absolutely loved the trekking, even through the uphill bits carrying all our kit -the whole park is stunning so made it worth it! The canoeing was great as well, the best bit about that was that we didn’t see anyone else for the whole 2 days and at the end Herman let us do an extra bit of kayaking around icebergs and up to a glacier which was amazing! very peaceful stunning place.
If you want a totally honest review, then I’d say we probably didn’t really need TuTravesia’s help for the trek, except that we weren’t totally sure what it entailed at the time and also we were on a pretty tight schedule so for Javiera (who was veeery helpful with perfect english!) to have sorted out bus tickets, transfers and a few hostels for us made everything go really smoothly which was great. If people had more time on their hands I’d say they could do it themselves as the hostels could have stored our kit aswell but even so she made it really easy and was lovely. It was also good knowing we had her there as backup if anything went wrong, and having you guys there too as English contacts was also reassuring just in case. Herman and Jonny (our two guides) were great aswell, with our pretty rubbish spanish we managed to get on really well, the pace was all in our control (which was nice as we were a bit knackered after doing the trek in 4 days!) and they cooked an awesome meal on the campfire that night (we’d been living on cereal bars and dry pasta while we were trekking so their seafood pasta was a feast!!)
It was pretty sedate kayaking and was more about being in and taking in the stunning scenery which was incredible (so if any of your clients are after white water they won’t find it!), in the end we only did a couple of hours each day, so I guess it was expensive (I think the most of the money went on the lamb bbq at the end!) but it was a brilliant end to the Patagonia bit of our trip and I’d definitely recommend it to people! The only problem we had was with paying TuTrevesia, as I’m sure you know from Laura for whatever reason the bank transfer wouldn’t go through and if they could set up PayPal or an easier way of paying I think she said that would have helped. Having said that Javiera was really nice about it and didn’t put any pressure on to sort it and we appreciate your help with it too.
Overall just to say thanks, we had an awesome time and really want to go back to Patagonia’
